Xmas tree tutorial

ϫ

With Christmas holidays around the corner, I present myself project.
My goal was to create the best mood on Christmas and New Year 2021.

§1

On New Year's Eve, I went into a snowy forest. With the help of a machete, I chopped off the branches: first thick, then thinner. I paid attention only to those trees that had already been felled. I did not touch live plants.

I came home, spread the branches on the floor under the radiator. For the branches to dry for a day. And that would make it easier to cut.

§2

The blanks were of different lengths and it was necessary to visually build a hierarchical pyramid. I decided that the xmas tree will consist of 9 horizontal branches. I tried on at what height the tree would hang on the wall. Divided this value by 9 and got the distance between branches.

I chose the longest branch and made the base of the tree out of it. Subsequent branches should be 6 cm shorter. Important note: it is better to cut with a hacksaw on a tree. I used a fragile metal hacksaw (which soon broke and I, as a caveman, temporarily repaired it with a rope).

§3

I made a star from small remains of branches, tying them together with a twine - a thin rope made of twisted environmentally friendly threads.

On the main horizontal branches with a hacksaw, I made notches up to 5 mm deep. Offset from the edge of the branch: 4 cm. With the help of twine, I began to tie the branches from the bottom up and back, maintaining the measured early distance.

§4

The resulting structure was hung on 2 nails for strength. Tree is light in weight, because dried branches. I also collected small alder cones in the forest. I tied them to the branches with thin threads. You can use glue, but I decided to focus on environmental friendliness.

§5

It's time for delicious New Year's smells. We bought 3 large oranges. Cut into thin circles. Using a napkin, they blotted each orange slice to remove more juice. This way our workpieces will dry faster.

Placed the circles on craft paper, put it in the oven. The temperature was set at 160
°C (the burning temperature of craft paper is 233 °C, so there is no need to be afraid of a fire). And the slices were dried in the oven for several hours. Then put the pieces on the windowsill to dry them completely.

§6

The next day, all the orange slices were dry and harder. Cinnamon slices and sheets were hung on a thin thread. We ordered a current, lightweight, energy-saving garland on a wire on aliexpress, connected via USB (mainly on batteries).

The tree is glowing, the tree is ready!

§7

The most important point, without which nothing will work: these are New Year's gifts! Wrap gifts for loved ones and friends in eco-friendly craft paper. Place it under the tree.

Invite guests and enjoy the holiday :)
